Taking an idea and turning it into a reality is the main objective of the Abstract Source Production Service. Book a pre-production session (free) to make an action plan and set a release date for your project.
A quality production relies heavily on the design and arrangement of sonic elements so particular attention is paid to these areas. Abstract Source will work with you and accommodate your ideas through the entire production process.

A passion for travel and music has taken Jules all over the world. From 2003 to 2008 he relocated to Kuala Lumpur where he set up DJ/Producer courses at SAE (School of Audio Engineering). During this time he also spent a year in Australia completing his degree in Recording Arts.
Returning from Kuala Lumpur in 2008, Jules settled back into the London music scene, primarily working as a production tutor and music producer, focusing on recording and producing live musicians, which has helped add an organic angle to his own productions. Jules has covered many bases from Funk through to Detroit Techno, pushing musical boundaries while maintaining an old school approach to Production.
In the studio he combines vintage drum machines, analogue synths and state of the art plug-ins fired through a 5 foot analogue rack, courtesy of production partner Wes Maebe (Sting/Cat Stevens). This alliance has enabled Jules to apply Rock style mixing and mastering techniques to his productions, giving them an old school analogue edge that so many modern productions are lacking.

Mixing & Mastering
Wes Maebe
There is nothing more exciting than helping musicians to make the best recording they can, whatever their musical genre. Depending on your budget for mixing and mastering, we can mix totally “in the box”, have the best of both worlds combining the advantages of digital, the character and warmth of analogue or take your project into a top flight studio.
In addition to my own mix room at The Sonic Cuisine in West London, I have good relationships with studios of different sizes and prices, both in the UK and Europe, so it’s always worth asking what sort of deal I could get for you.
Originally lecturing at City of Westminster College at National Diploma level, and at Westminster University at degree level, Wes moved to full-time freelance engineering in 2006.
He has worked with a huge host of recording artists including: The Kooks; The Buzzcocks; Cat Stevens; Alfred Brendel; Alexandra Burke; Melanie C; Beverley Knight; Praying Mantis; New Model Army; The Sex Pistols; Glen Matlock; Fairport Convention; Stiff Little Fingers and the Zimmers, as well as great producers including Garth Richards, Elliott Randall and Paul O’Duffy.
Wes has held the position of front of house engineer in over 300 venues and festivals all over Europe, and has toured with artists as varied as Sting, Chaka Khan, Hugh Cornwell, seminal goth band Specimen, heavy metal rockers Exit 10 and classic blues/rock singer Deborah Bonham.
He is also on the Board of the APRS - the Association of Professional Recording Services - and is a regular reviewer for Audio Pro International magazine.
